Elderly Health Improvement Officer
Part Time, fixed term, 25 hours per week
Salary: £18,000 - £20,000 p.a. pro rata (depending on experience), inc.
We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and caring person to manage and deliver the Elderly Health Improvement project. The post holder will have to organise various healthy living initiatives, provide health care advice to Chinese Elderly and supervise an Elderly Luncheon Club.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 year working experience with the voluntary sectors in a paind / unpaid capacity and fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin).

Summer Holiday Play and Educational Project
The Chinese Community Centre needs reliable and enthusiastic volunteers to help with the 2009 Summer Holiday Play and Educational Project from 27 July to 30 August. This project aims to enable children aged 11 to 19 to develop their social skills and improve their understanding of Chinese British Culture, whilst having a fun summer holiday. Volunteers will help with activities such as Music & Drama workshops, Chinese Arts & Crafts, Sports sessions, and Educational Outings to Museums and Parks. The Centre provides support to volunteers including: · Training · Travel and meal expenses · References for future employment References from the Chinese Community Centre have helped volunteers in past years to successfully gain permanent employment in other organizations. Tutorial Assistance We run a homework club for the Youth Group, so if you have interest in helping our Youth Group members with their studies please let us know. We are in particular in need of someone who can tutor our GCSE Maths students, as our current tutor is returning to Hong Kong. Transalation The CCC provides notices, newsletters and this website bi-lingually in English and Chinese so we would love to hear from anyone with good fluency in both. Ability to type in Chinese would be a bonus!
