London Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival
The CCC Turtles paddled hard again this year at the London Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival. As usual it was a scorcher of a day and the turn out was amazing. There was a record number of teams at the festival this year and so plenty of races to enjoy! The Royal Albert Docks looked fantastic in the sunshine and teams gathered, registered and took part in the always important safety briefing before preparing themselves for competition.
Race Recap
18 Turtles came out for the day and we took part in 3 races. This years team included some original Turtles along with a few brand new faces. With our snazzy new t-shirts on we were ready for action and gave it our best. We came in with a respectable second place in our first race. Following that we came third and then second again. Unfortunately, it’s all about your times and this year we missed the qualifying time we needed for the charity team final by just 1 second. Nonetheless we enjoyed the day and cheered on our training partners Typhoon as they received their medals. The Turtles are always looking for new paddlers so make sure you check out our Facebook page by clicking here if you are interested! We have plenty more races coming up in 2019 and rest assured we’ll be back for some silverware next year London HK Dragon Boat Festival!!
