YOUTH CLUB SUMMER PROGRAMME
The annual Chinese Community Centre Youth Summer Programme will run for 3 weeks in August 2020. Last year’s programme was fully booked with only 30 spaces available so make sure you book your place early to avoid disappointment.
We welcome young people aged between 11 and 18 to participate in educational and fun activities organised by the Chinese Community Centre Youth Worker.
Previous educational activities include first aid and money management workshops taught by the Red Cross and volunteers from Barclays Lifeskills. In the past we have also offered drama and representation in the media workshops with the Yellow Earth Theatre and Veronica Needa from the True Heart Theatre and visits to London Zoo.
Physical activities have included Zorball rock climbing, ice skating, a treasure hunt around China town and Leicester Square, kayaking in Brent reservoir, dragon boat racing with Typhoon Dragon Boat Club, bowling, playing hockey in the 2012 Olympic stadium, badminton, basketball, trampolining and cycling the road circuit at Lee Valley Velopark.
Each year the programme enables young people to enjoy exciting activities and gives those who are newly arrived a chance to make friends and discover London.
